In the beginning there were five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. And the elements were made into a soup. And they called that soup Suppito. In truth, the name came from our captain, Hans Proschofsky. The idea of introducing the Viennese to healthy five elements cuisine came from Cordula’s sister, Andrea Scholdan. The design for the restaurant in Vienna’s Girardigasse was in safe hands with Mobimenti, Renate Allmayer-Beck’s architectural studio. Suppito was on everyone’s lips in the blink of an eye. The soups and other dishes are hand made to this day, and Alessandri’s brand and design concept gives expression to the artisanal philosophy behind the food.
