Few other estates can claim to represent the long history of viticulture in Austria in quite the same way as Schloss Gobelsburg – monasterial history and monastic culture run deep in its DNA. When the far-sighted and wonderful Michael Moosbrugger commissioned us to create a work worthy of the occasion, we felt honoured. After all, it’s not every day that you get the opportunity to design a book for the 850th anniversary of a winery. So it had to involve the finest typography and gold embossing.
It turned out to be a monumental work – just like the unique brick wine cellar built to mark the anniversary. Michael Moosbrugger sums it up best: “We don’t build anything that will only last a hundred years.” In Gobelsburg they think in different dimensions.
