A quick journey back in time: it was around 30 years ago that Christian Madl first allowed his passion for making Sekt – Austrian sparkling wine – using the Méthode Traditionnelle to fully wash over him. And given that they can’t be made every year for quality reasons that are outside anyone’s control, the varieties of Sekt that come out of his estate really are the best of the best, the finest of the fine, and complete and utter rarities.
When he asked us to come up with the aesthetic for his Signature Collection, it was clear to us from the outset that the best sparkling wine in Austria was going to need the best label to go with it. Having secured Christian Madl’s blessing, we transferred the brief to the bottles, which now carry the winemaker’s signature below their slender shoulders with classically noble, timelessly elegant poise.
